Taufik Berada di Grup Maut Kejuaran Dunia Bulutangkis

Taufik Hidayat akan menghadapi pemain China, Bao Chunlai, di babak awal pertadingan Grup A kejuaraan World Super Series Masters Finals, Rabu (2/11).

Taufik, yang merupakan satu-satunya pemain tunggal putra asal Indonesia, bergabung di Grup A bersama peringkat satu dunia Lee Chong Wei, Bao Chunlai, serta pemain China Taipei, Hsieh Yu Hsin.

Memakai sistem pertandingan round robin, Taufik akan menghadapi Chunlai, sedangkan Chong Wei bertemu dengan Hsieh Yu Hsin dalam pertandingan lainnya, Rabu (2/11).

Grup A dianggap sebagai grup neraka atau maut, sedangkan Grup B terdiri dari dua pemain Denmark, Peter Hoeg Gade dan Jan O Jorgensen, serta pemain Thailand, Boonsak Ponsana.

Taufik sendiri menjadi satu-satunya pemain tunggal asal Indonesia setelah Sony Dwi Kuncoro dan Simon Santoso absen karena diprioritaskan bermain di ajang SEA Games, Laos, Desember ini.

Peraih medali emas Olimpiade Atlanta 2004 ini mengaku siap menghadapi tantangan di grup yang berat ini. Di jejaring sosial Facebook, ia menulis, "Death Group?" Tantangan berat di Johor Bahru, tapi harus memberi yang terbaik! Let's Go!
